ZATCA invoice QR code generator

Enter the invoice details and we make the code in the phase-1 format (five TLV fields encoded as Base64).

For phase 1 and testing only. It doesn’t replace an approved e-invoicing system: businesses in phase 2 (integration) must have their system issue the code with an electronic signature.

The code is made in your browser. We don’t store what you type, and the code never passes through our servers.

How to use it

  1. Enter the seller name, VAT number and invoice time.
  2. Enter the total including VAT, and tap “Work out 15% VAT” if you like.
  3. Download the code and put it on the invoice.

What’s inside the code?

Five fields in ZATCA’s order: (1) seller name, (2) VAT number, (3) invoice time, (4) total including VAT, (5) VAT amount. Each is written as tag, length and value (TLV), and the whole thing is turned into Base64 text. The time is converted to UTC in ISO 8601 format.

To check the result, read it with Read a QR code: it shows the fields and checks the VAT number and amount.

We don’t store invoice details; the code is made in your browser.

FAQ

Is this code enough for my invoices?

It suits phase 1 (generation) and testing. If your business is in phase 2, the code must come from an approved e-invoicing system connected to ZATCA, because it carries an electronic signature we can’t create.

Why must the VAT number start and end with 3?

That’s the format of Saudi VAT registration numbers: 15 digits, the first and last being 3.

The VAT isn’t 15% of the total. Is that wrong?

Not necessarily. Exempt or zero-rated items make the VAT lower. We warn you but don’t stop you.
